New Shark Tank Shark Season 5
John Paul DeJornia is already well known around the world for his Famous Paul Mitchel Hair Products, but now he will forever be known as a ruthless Shark Tank Investor. Actually DeJornia has the reputation as a very calm person who always seems to stay in control. As with most of the Sharks on the Show, John Paul has his own rags-to-riches story starting with nothing more than a dream and turned it into a multi-billion dollar empire. DeJornia's net worth is estimated at over $4 billion dollars which makes our New Billionaire Shark one of the richest people in the world.

Having a rough childhood after being sent to a foster home because his mom could no longer afford to take care of him, John Paul soon became a gang member in L.A. Fortunately his Math Teacher was able to chance his entire direction when he said "DeJornia would never succeed at anything in life". That single moment did change John Paul's life when he became more determined than ever To Succeed regardless of where he was at that time. He couldn't change the past, but was determined he would control his future which has now landed John Paul on the Biggest Business Reality TV Show in US History.

Getting into the Hair Care Industry first began for DeJornia when he was hired at Redkin Laboratories. Already showing the entrepreneur spirit, John Paul was abruptly fired over a disagreement with the company's business strategy.

In 1980 John Paul formed a partnership with Paul Mitchell using a $700 loan and started the John Paul Mitchel Systems. Today Paul Mitchell has annual sales in excess of $900 million around the world and has made DeJornia a billionaire a few times over. John Paul's Net worth has been estimated at over $4 billion with hundreds of millions already given away to dozens of charity organizations. John Paul clearly is a big in philanthropy with a Very Big Heart when it comes to helping others.

In addition to the Paul Mitchell Success, John Paul also is the majority owner of Patron Spirits Company that makes an Ultra-Premium Tequila, A Founding Partner for the House Of Blues Nightclub Chain, Touchstone Natural Gas, Diamond Audio and even has his own Harley Davidson Dealership to name a few.

John Paul DeJornia Interview with Barbara Corcoran

This interview was done a few years ago but still gives you a very good idea into John Paul's background and what he has done to become one of the most successful people in the world. A quote at the beginning of the interview is definitely worth writing down and making it apart of your being.

DeJornia said "Successful people do all the things unsuccessful people don't want to do".
Think about that for a moment and more importantly REMEMBER THIS when you are procrastinating completing a task or making that important phone call. Rejection is very much a part of Success that must be overcome before anyone becomes truly successful.

Shark Tank Season 5 Debut

#1- Tree-T-Pee inventor Johnny Georges makes a fantastic deal with J.P. on his Debut Episode in week 8.

------------

By all account's the Shark Tank Producers have done an excellent job picking John Paul DeJornia as a New Shark for season 5. I for one will be very interested in the types of new businesses John Paul will be investing in, and the new relationships He will form as a direct result of this Show.

My wife and I are regulars watching the show on Friday night. The show that aired on 11/1/13 was the best ever thanks to John Paul. How refreshing it was to see him support the tree-t-pee. This product is good for the natural resources preservation, aids in supplying healthy fruit to the consumer, helps farmers make a living, supports small business and the American dream. WE have never bought Paul Mitchell products but plan to in the future to support John Paul. It was so refreshing to see a business person do what is good for someone else other than them self. The inventor was not interested in "getting rich" but rather wanted to expand his business and make a very reasonable profit. It is a shame that we have generally become a society all about the mighty dollar. So refreshing John Paul.......

amen. So sick of the rest of the other businessmen and women (sometimes) bully people, and use their power(money) to get whatever they want. Then they give people hugs like in the 11/1 episode with 180cup. Glad there are people in the 1% like Paul.

Anon, (10:07 PM), they aren't "bullying" people, they're being investors. If the idea was to just give people money, the show could just as easily consist of people walking into a room and picking up cash from some magic dispenser...

    "So sick..."

If you are sick, then maybe you should attempt to understand the dynamics of the entrepreneur/investor business relationship. If an entrepreneur is going to ask for an investor to believe and INVEST in his/her vision/dream/business model, he/she should be prepared to answer every single question with clear and intelligent answers. There is no bullying on the show. If an entrepreneur gets beaten up by the sharks, then they just received the equivalent of a graduate level business course in either management or negotiation from some of the world's top producers. If you were to understand that, maybe your tummy wouldn't ache.

    Knowledge is a powerful thing.

  6. I just saw the episode on demand and I was so impressed by Johnny Georges defense of the farmer. I believe his dad would be very proud of his son's character. I am not a farmer and I do not have a need for "Tree TeePee"; but I admire what John Paul Dejornia, has done for him. By investing in "Tree TeePee" without a minute attempt to get more money from Johhny Georges, says a lot about his character, I will look at John Paul' s Product line, with then hopes of purchasing any of them. In reply to "so sick" I get it, the show title says it all; however, I don't blame the general public for feeling used by greedy corporate executives who look for breaks from bankers' when they are in trouble. I believe the attitude an individual displays could be benefit or a detriment to his/her bottom line, no matter what side of the negotiating table you're on.

It is no accident that John Paul Dejornia was a shark when Johnny Georges presented his water saving tree teepee. Words cannot express how moved I was watching that episode and I have re-watched it many times since. These 2 men will move mountains because their hearts are pure. Water conservation is a HUGE problem and this alliance of a humble irrigation professional paired with an equally humble billionaire from humble beginnings will be a blessing to all of us. I cannot wait to see their story unfold. TY to both of you for taking care of all of us!
