Mix Bikini Shark Tank Update
|Frank Scozzafava Inventor of Mix Bikini|
Tough Job but someone has to do it!
Frank Scozzafava and Adam DiSilvestro came into the Shark Tank looking for a $50,000.00 investment in their creative bikini line, but for only 5% equity stake in the business. Each interchangeable part of the swimsuit is sold separately which you will need at least 4 to complete a brand new look. To create your own unique bikini costs between $40-$60 retail.
With starting off negotiations with a 5% stake in the business or $1 million valuation, was soon changed to 10% and quickly cut it in half down to $500k. The male Sharks seemed a little concerned how there was no real business plan in place and no sales to put a value so high on a brand new start up.
Barbara Corcoran on the other hand really liked the concept and was willing to give Scozzafava the $50,000.00 investment for a 25% stake in the entire business. According to Barbara's website the deal did indeed go through and they got the money.
Mix Bikini UpdateWithin 4 months of being Featured on the Shark Tank MiX Bikini opened up the very first retail location at the Westfield Brandon Mall in Florida. Everything seemed to be going good for Frank as the business gained a lot of interest from the Shark Tank Show. The FaceBook page was constantly updated with new pictures of customers and the many styles of Mix Bikini that were being created. The interchangeable swimsuits were on their way to becoming one of Shark Tanks Biggest Success Stories.
Then 2013 rolled around and things seems to have suddenly changed. With such a great idea that had so much potential and momentum behind it, it now seems to have stalled. The last FaceBook posting is 6 months old and Twitter hasn't been touched this entire year. According to the Westfield Malls Directory, it looks like the first store is also closed down.
The good news is you can still create a Mix Bikini Outfit Online and Barbara must still be involved with the company. If she wasn't, I would think she would of taken it off her website by now but it has not changed. Barbara has one of the best reputations working with entrepreneurs she makes deals with on the Shark Tank, so this update is a little confusing to say the least.
I will most definitely do an update on this update and try to uncover what happened to cause all the momentum to apparently stall.
The good news is (and perhaps the Best News of all) Frank Scozzafava is getting a rare second chance to be seen on the Shark Tank next month. Starting September 8, 2013 ABC is holding it's first ever "Shark Tank Week" for 6 consecutive days in a row.
Each Shark gets to chose their favorite episode with their most memorable investment made on the show. Fortunately for Mix Bikini, Daymond John's choice was a deal with Billy Blank's Jr. seen in the same episode of season 3. This episode will rerun during Shark Tank Week on Thursday Sept. 12, 2013.
With so many new investors tuning into The Shark Tank Show since episode 315 first aired, the odds are very good that Mix Bikini is going to get the needed boost and become the Huge Success Story it has the potential to become.
