Trimi Tank on the Shark Tank
|Lindsay Johnson and Nicole Bilsky Lindsay |
Creator's of the Trimi Tank Tops
The two Obviously Best Friend's were seeking a $57k investment for a 30% stake in the Trimi Tank Top Business. By the looks on the Sharks faces for the second time during this episode, when they hear valuations using odd numbers it's like they all are thinking what's those few extra Grand thrown into the valuation for instead of clear round number's they can easily digest. This seemingly little distraction is taking the focus off the main part of the presentation when you want the Sharks (and the audience) to be focused more on you and understanding the product then trying to figure out how (or why) you chose to value your company like that.
Robert Herjevic asks how many Trimi Tanks Lindsay and Nicole have sold so far. They answer about 100. He asks again, "you mean $100k?" No, they mean 100 Trimi Tank products. They sell for $35 each which has grossed them approx. $3,500.00 at that time. Clearly these numbers was not going to impress anyone on the Shark Tank but with the right attitude, you can change any negative into a positive. Bilsky quickly changes the subject and wants to focus on the future and potential of the Trimi Tank and not on current sales numbers..
Lori Greiner wants to know what type of marketing has been done to promote the product. Apparently the two Best Friends did go to the Flea Market and had an overwhelming good response to their new creations but not many buyer's. This sends up a red flag with Lori and she proceeds to go out. The other Sharks also drop out until there was Kevin O'Leary the last hope to get an investment.
Clearly Kevin was not the preferred Shark to make a deal with but what can you do when he is your last hope to get an investment for your business. You start "sucking up" that's what you do and that's exactly what Bilsky tried to do by saying "Your The Best". But the look on Johnson's face told a whole other story and they both kind of cracked up a bit probably thinking just the opposite. Kevin reminded them that all roads lead to him in the end anyway, so he makes them an unusual offer. He offers to take them both out and buy a $3500 bottle of wine that is equal to their total sales and then burn the idea when they are done. This is not the kind of offer they were hoping for and decline his unusual offer.
|Several Different Style's for the Trimi Tank Tops|
This week will be the third time the Trimi Tank Tops will air on the Shark Tank Show including two reruns. I'm happy to report that the Trimi Update has continued to grow in popularity and in the products now being offered. It's easy to see and even easier to make the call that Johnson and Bilsky WILL be back on the Shark Tank in a new episode. This time they will have the sales numbers and a proven market for their Interchangeable Tank Top's and will get a deal the second time around.
Whether you make a deal with the sharks or not, you are forever in an alumni with a very select group of Entrepreneur's that have also taken the plunge. New Friends that you very much have something in common with, and I can only imagine, a sense of wanting to help each other in any way they can. It's always good to see when one Shark Tank Product is helping another like the OneSole Shoe Company is doing for Trimi Tank.
