Chord Buddy on the Shark Tank Show

Learn How To Play Guitar - Season 3 - Episode 301 - Update

Shark Tank Guitar
Cord Buddy's Fender Guitar Package Deal

The Chord Buddy is a great way to learn how to play the guitar. My Son instantly said when he saw it on the Shark Tank it reminded him of the Guitar Hero and the Rock Bands Video's where he first started learning to play. But with the Chord Buddy, you can play a real guitar instead of the fake looking video guitar that basically mimics the same training process. It's a clever device that attaches to the neck of your guitar with easy to read colored tabs that will have you playing like a pro in no time.

Travis Perry developed the Chord Buddy to teach his Daughter how to play the guitar that she did learn within just a few months time. It was so easy to learn this way that Perry knew he had a new hit product that could teach thousands how to play.

In a single month, Travis had a $150,000.00 in sales which confirmed he was on to something BIG. He just needed to convince at least one Shark to invest in the Cord Buddy this will completely change how we learn to play the guitar.

When Travis entered the Shark Tank, he was more confident than ever of the future success of the Chord Buddy and ready to negotiate with the Sharks. His biggest stipulation was the Cord Buddy will continue to be manufactured here in the U.S.A.

Travis was asking for $125,000.00 and would give up a 10% equity stake in the business in return valuing the Chord Buddy at $1.2 million at that time. Total sales have already surpassed the $500k mark and already has a purchase order with Sam's Club to place 50 Chord Buddies in all 5000 locations.

The Sharks LOVE this Idea and the offers started coming in from all sides. Interestingly no one seems to want to partner up on this deal and Travis gets four offers from four Sharks all with the same type of offer, a $125,000.00 for 20% of the guitar learning business. It all comes down to who can help the Chord Buddy Guitar Business the most. In the end, Travis Perry partners with Robert Herjevic for an additional $50k and makes a deal for $175,000.00 and a 20% stake in the Chord Buddy Guitar Business.

Guitar Buddy Update after the Shark Tank Show Update

The deal between Travis Perry and Robert Herjevic did indeed go through and to say that the Chord Buddy is a Big Success may be a very big understatement. For the $175k Robert invested in the company, it's turning out to be one of the most solid investments he's made on the Shark tank thus far.

Within a years time, sales are now in the $1.5 million range and still climbing as new products keep getting introduced. They have also made a deal with John Rich with the "Big and Rich Band" as their National Spokesperson for anyone that wants to learn how to play the guitar.

What started out as a simple device teaching you how to play guitar, has now grown to several other products including a lesson plan on DVDs, and a songbook with over 100 easy to play songs. If you're going to sell a product that is the easiest way to learn how to play guitar, then you might as well sell guitars to go along with them, right? Great Idea!

Travis has now come up with a full line of guitars depending on your skill level and the type of music that you want to play. With a price point starting at $124.99 that includes EVERYTHING you need, it definitely has a lot of value.

How easy is it learning how to play guitar using the Chord Buddy? Well, if Travis can teach Willie Robertson from "Duck Dynasty" how to play, then it's a safe bet he can teach you too.

I just saw this episode on Shark Tank.. Pretty awesome idea.. I play guitar. I'm sorry this wasn't around when I started to play.. Congratulations Mr. Perry !!!

  3. Just saw your product on ST, Travis. Awesome idea. Have wanted to play guitar since early years, now wanting to learn and teach my 4 year old twins about music. What a great product! Blessings and Favor to you and your family...and keep it in the USA! Coach Charles Holland

AWESOME,, I myself have played guitar professionally for year's. Let me say this. There are Follower's and then there are Leader's. I was asked on numerous occasion's by Parent's and induvidual's as well, to help in learning to play guitar, only to learn I myself am not very good at teaching. I truly can't figure it out as to why. All I can say is that I had little success at teaching other's. My theory is that a beginner need's to feel a sense of accomplishment at the start to maintain the confidence to continue and work at it just a little harder to achieve there gold. This product allow's just that. When availiable I will purchase this item which in turn will help me to help other's. Truly amazing product

  5. Just watched ST and saw your product. I have been teaching myself to play for about a year now and I have to say, this product is genius. You also seem like such a great guy and I can't help but root for you. I wish you happiness and hope you make a killing in the process. Godspeed Travis.

I am left handed . Why do we always get left out ?

    1. Maybe because 85 to 90 percent of the population is right are built for right handed people, lefties drive those every day. Learn to play right handed, and you can switch to left after you gain some knowledge

  7. Anonymous10:44 AM

Are there plans to adapt to a banjo?

    1. Anonymous10:23 PM

I been trying to teach my wife guitar so she can play with me while I play my Banjo. She try to
learn the chords and gets upset and gives up. Maybe this will encourage her and we can pick and grin.......Soon.....

  8. Anonymous8:42 AM

Where can I obtain a chord buddy system w/o being forced into also purchasing new guitar. I already have a new 3/4 Hohner HW03 I would love to learn how to play.

    1. Are you joking??

  9. Anonymous7:48 PM

Saw it on Shark Tank; have to have it. Used to play years ago and have been saving up for a guitar. I already know the chords on Chord Buddy, but it's a good "break-in" tool until the callouses build up again. It gives you that instant "high" of playing!

  10. Anonymous4:38 PM

    Need a left handed one

  11. This is NOT a new idea. My very first guitar was a plastic 'Elvis Presley' four-stringer and it came with a 'chord-matic' clip-on extra with buttons which, when pressed, played the chords.

  12. First time ever I actually CLAPPPEDDDD when he got his deal "red necks in the rivera" so happy for him

  13. when will a left hander cord buddy be ready

  14. We love this product. Our daughter who has motor skills issues uses it as an adaptive device. Her music therapist tried it in a session and loved it.

I want to know when you will make some indifferent keys ? This is only in the key of g.

Can we buy math buddy ? Is this for sale or exclusively sold to educators ? Please list URL. Ty

  15. Just bought one and not happy. I have a epiphone dr 100 and doesn't fit on fret board like it should. I tilt it up 30 degrees like it says and this pulls off the frett board. Thus you push it back down on board then strings are dead. I tried tightening up and snapped the screw. I'm returning for refund. To pricy for plastic crapped.

  16. Anonymous4:33 PM

Great product i might get for my grandkids. But i really want to know the answer to the question everyone want to know but wont ask...
Is Robert a rock star yet?

  17. Anonymous2:26 PM

Is there potential for piano item! This may have opened a new gate of business
