Big Chef Shake on Shark Tank
|Shawn Davis (aka Chef Big Shake)|
One of Shark Tank's Most Successful Entrepreneurs
Most of the Sharks loved the Shrimp Burgers but for one reason or another no offers were made for the CBS Foods Business and Shawn left with no deal. What seemed like a risky deal for the Sharks turned into a fantastic deal for a few Angel Investors watching the Show.
These Angel Investors watching the Show saw the Chef Big Shakes passion for the Shrimp Burgers and His determination to succeed. They made him a better offer of $500k for an equity stake in the CBS Foods Business which he gladly accepted.
Chef Big Shake Update:So how fast can you grow a business after being turned down from the Sharks on National T.V.? In less than a year after first appearing on the Shark Tank Show, the Original Shrimp Burgers could already be found in over 800 Grocery Stores. Most of these stores are on the East Coast, but Shawn's still firmly committed to getting his Shrimp Burgers distributed on a National level.
CBS Food sales went from $30k for the entire 2011 period to over $5 million in sales for 2012. These numbers are very impressive in any one's books, especially from a company that was turned down by all the Sharks. Within a years time, the Sharks would need to add another zero if they wanted a piece of the Shrimp Burger Business, which no longer needed their investment dollars.
The Sharks might not have invested in Chef Big Shake, but it didn't stop ABC from bringing back the Shrimp Burgers for a Featured Update in Season 3. With this incredible growth shortly after being seen on the Shark Tank, Shawn Davis quickly was becoming one of the Most Successful Entrepreneurs ever seen on the Show with a net worth now in the millions.
I've done updates on the majority of all the contestants seen on the Shark Tank, but cannot recall any product growing as fast as the CBS Brands has in such a short amount of time. Mark Cuban who at the time of Chef Big Shakes taping for the show, was his very first guest appearance ever. He has gone on record several times saying that not investing in the Original Shrimp Burgers was the "one company" he regrets not investing in the most.
This is a HUGE Compliment coming from any Shark Tank Investor, especially Mark Cuban.
Within 18 months of first appearing on the Show, Davis was now up to 2500 Grocery Stores as word continued to spread fast for this hamburger alternative. The Chef Big Shake went back to the kitchen and started creating new products for the CBS Foods which now includes the Lobster Mac n Cheese, Lobster Pot Pies, and Veggie Burgers.
