Spring Loaded Clothes Hamper -  Season 4 Update
Marvin Phillip's Lifter Hamper season 4

Not sure how I missed this one, but the Lifter Hamper has to be the coolest clothes hamper on the market that thousands of people with back problems are going to love. The inventor of The Lifter Hamper is Marvin Phillip, a NFL Star who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steeler's back in 2006. In 2008 Phillip had a back injury that sidelined Him for the rest of the Season when it was difficult just to bend over.

Marvin may not have been able to play Professional Football, but that didn't stop Him from helping out around the House including doing the laundry. Having to bend over to complete this task, Phillip reasoned there had to be a better way. What if the hamper was spring loaded going down when you put clothes in the hamper, then rises back up when you take them out? A light bulb went off and Marvin's entrepreneurial spirit took over designing the Lifter Hamper that would make bending over a thing of the past.

Marvin Phillip entered the Shark Tank seeking $85,000,00 in exchange for a 12% equity stake in the Lifter Hamper Business. He was already in the hamper business for 6 months with contracts from two rep firms, but no real sales yet to speak of. With such a cool invention for anyone with back problems, it would seem like a great product for Lori Greiner's QVC Show.

But a product that has not proven itself in the market yet, and an extremely high valuation at this point in the game, left Lori very little choice but to go out. In fact, all the Sharks go out as it appears Phillip had made the most common mistake for contestants not getting a deal on the shark Tank by over valuing their business.

Lifter Hamper Shark Tank Update

Marvin may not of got a deal on the Shark Tank Show but the overwhelming positive response from the viewer's convinced Phillip he was indeed to something. Within a few month's Marvin took the Lifter Hamper concept and started a Crowd Funding Campaign at Indiegogo.com to raise the much needed capital to fund this invention.

This time Marvin was more realistic in the valuation of the Lifter Hamper when he set the goal at only $25k. Unfortunately He may of made another mistake for not coinciding the crowd funding campaign with the Shark Tank Effect when millions of people saw this product for the first time.

By the time the crowdfunding campaign ended, the Lifter Hamper raised over $10k with requests for the product still coming in as word was still spreading. Marvin decided to extend the campaign with an additional $2500 goal which ended up raising $4990 by the time it ended.

Here's a video that was just released last month showing the Lifter Hampers finished product.

It may of been a little bumpy ride getting the Lifter Hamper on the market and into the hands of consumers, but it has now become a reality and available for sale.

The Lifter Hamper is now available at Amazon

I AM VERY HAPPY FOR MARVIN PHILLIP WITH HIS SUCCESS WITH THE LIFT HAMPER. THE SHARKS ARE OFTEN SO INTENT ON FEEDING ON THE OBVIOUS THAT THEY MISS THE SCENT OF A GREAT MENU JUST BEYOND THEIR GREEDY NOSES. YES, OFTEN THE S H A R K S ARE JUST C H U M IN THE WATER FOR A GREAT W H A L E OF A PRODUCT.

I just finished watching his appearance on the tank & as a member of the bad back club I think it's a great idea & would love to but one when I can afford it but those questions Lori asked him weren't answered here (or on the update page). Has he fixed the wheels when he redesigned it (it looks completely different than the one on the show which I'm ok with though I liked the one from the show better. Between the study appearance of the cover & the colors) but if it still won't roll on carpet well I'm going to have issues with it. I'm also curious about how the problem of getting it down stairs was solved. I personally don't have to worry about that issue but the ppl I'd conside4 it as a gift for do.
I hope he sells millions & that in a future update I'd like to see that Lori eventually becomes a partner & gets it on QVC. She did say she'd be there to help when ready & I think with it shown & explained on tv so many moms & grandmas will buy for themselves & everyone in their family even if they don't have back issues. I think this will prevent some. & if he does the same looks we say on tv a lot of men will like it. It's actually a great look for something every house needs.
Good luck & I hope to be a customer soon.

Oh does anyone know if he has made a separate colors/divided hamper yet?

Great idea! I sustained a low back injury from a car accident and this product will certainly help me with the daunting task of doing the laundry even if it isn't the best roller. Bending over is horrid and so this is a "dream" product for me! These investors are definitely sharks because they are obviously all blind! This is a great product and I guarantee this will help protect my back from going out as often! Pretty sad that I am so excited about this product but this is life altering for back pain sufferer! And helping a fellow back pain sufferer is an added bonus!
