Kane and Couture on Shark Tank Season 5
I still remember the first time I seen a dog wearing a sweater my Grandma knitted for her poodle. I thought why on earth are you dressing up your dog that matched a dress she was wearing? Her response was "because she looks so cute" and besides, "there's 2 feet of snow outside and it helps keep her dog warm in the winter". That was a good enough answer, but seeing a dog wearing a sweater for the first time, I still thought my grandma may of fell off her rocker. Little did I know that High Quality Dog Clothes and Accessories would grow into a multi-million dollar market.
My Grandma may have been onto something all those years ago, but it took an Entrepreneur like Amber Lee to perfect the idea and grow it into a profitable business. In fact the quality and number of accessories you can now buy to dress up your dog on Amber's website is very impressive indeed.
There was a lot of talk the producers of the Shark Tank were actively seeking Minority and Women Owned Businesses to try out for Season 5 and a good chance to be featured on the Show. A few years ago Macy's also held a workshop specifically seeking new products that were developed within this same category of entrepreneurs. Only 5 new products were chosen to be sold in select Macy's Store's which included Amber Lee and the Kane & Couture Dog Fashion Accessories
Another positive thing Amber Lee and her business Kane & Couture has going for it was being featured on "Ice Loves Coco" on Rapper Ice-T's Reality Show. This short video shows off just how many Dog Accessories Amber has developed and available for sale on her website.
With such an impressive list of products already for sale in the Dog Fashion Business, and a professionally developed website ready to take orders, whats the chance Amber Lee gets a deal on the Shark Tank and possibly the million dollar offer one of these contestants will get in this episode?
Everything on the surface looks promising that Kane and Couture is on its way to become a huge success within the High Fashion Dog Apparel Business with the exception of one thing, no new updates for some time. Neither Amber's blog or Facebook page has been updated in several years which gives me the feeling all the good news I found is a little outdated and no major progress since that time.
Amber has however, been tweeting about her upcoming appearance on the Shark Tank Season 5 which is always a good thing to see. Maybe She's just been too busy not keeping up with her social network pages, but as a consumer who buys a lot of stuff online, this is something I personally check and feel a lot more comfortable knowing they are indeed still in business and actively engaging with their customers. It's something for everyone to consider if you sell anything online and wonder if your time spent keeping your social network pages updated is worth your time. The real question is "How much money is it costing your business going months between updates and giving potential new customers a reason to "question" if your even still around"?
I'm not so sure Amber will get a deal on the Shark Tank because of the reason stated above, but I am sure she will be very busy after this weekend when the Shark Tank Effect takes hold and sends thousands of new customers to the Kane & Couture site looking to dress up their doggies in style.
