The Future of Amazon's Success
I already shop at Amazon quite regularly and have yet to have a bad experience with their service. They send you an email with an expected delivery time and every single time it shows up earlier than expected. I'm also an Affiliate for Amazon and always interested in learning from the Top Brass, I had plenty of reasons to watch 60 Minutes and see what Jeff Bezos had to say.
Amazon has one major long term goal, "To sell everything to everyone at the best possible price". This seems like quite the ambitious goal especially when you consider where Jeff Bezos was back in 1994 when Amazon.com was first born. What started out as an Online Book Store run out of his garage much like a lot of Shark Tank Contestants, and grown into 95 Super Fulfillment Centers around the world with millions of available products. Jeff stated on 60 Minutes that today Cyber Monday, Amazon will full fill over 300 products per second all day long.
As impressive as these numbers sound, this is just the beginning of what Amazon is building for the future. With an estimated 225 million customers around the world thus far, Jeff Bezos is just getting started as far as He's concerned. If you happen to follow the stock market and in particular Amazons Stock, even Wall Street puts this Company in a class all its own trading at a very high multiple. This was one of the few Internet Stocks that not only survived the Dot.Com Bubble; it thrived and created countless millionaires that believed in Jeff's vision. As of today Amazon's market cap just topped $180 billion.
The last time you could buy Amazon stock for under $100 was four years ago before it started this picture perfect chart that is still intact to this day. During the 60 Minutes interview they estimated Jeff Bozos net worth at $25 Billion when Amazons Stock Price was much lower than $393 where it's currently trading. It's obviously getting a nice pop this morning after that interview and for good reason: Jeff did a Great Job and no doubt won over thousands of new Amazon Fans.
So what's this Great Idea that's kept me up all night? A s with a lot of great inventions we now use in our everyday lives, it was first conceived and developed by our Military. Just the thought of making this idea reality is straight out of the Futurist Cartoon Show "The Jetson's" and really proves the cutting edge technology Amazon is working towards to full fill its Major Goal. Can you imagine ordering a product from your computer or smart phone and have it delivered to your door within a half an hour? Not by a Human, but an unmanned Drone using what's called an Octocopter.
This Grand Vision Billionaire Jeff Bezos has for the future of Amazon products delivered to your door via the Octocopter, got it's first big break earlier this year as the Afghan War is finally winding down. Our Government with a seemingly endless budget, had 5,000 excess UAV's (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) valued at $50 Billion that were being decommissioned. Amazon bought the entire decommissioned fleet earlier this year and now ranks as having the fourth largest Air Force in the World only behind the U.S., Russia and China.
Obviously Amazon is going to have a huge first mover's advantage using this futuristic technology that's going to have many competitors scratching their heads on how to compete. Even the biggest Retailer in the World Walmart, knows they must somehow come up with a solution to compete with Amazon's vision of the future. But there were only 5000 UAV's available from the U.S. Government and Amazon bought all of them and secured its position for the very first company that will be using this technology in the near future.
Stock Tip of the Day: Buy Drone Making Related Companies!
After last night's 60 Minutes Show actually showing an order getting fulfilled at an Amazon Fullfilment Center and being delivered to someone's front door via the unmanned Octocopter, it's easy to see an entirely new industry will be created in the very near future. No doubt even Papa John Himself will be starting the research and development to have Pizza's flying to your door in no time.
I can see it now, it's the year 2020 and I'm kicking back at home running a Food Delivery Business with my Fleet of Smart Drones. Once you place an order at any restaurant in town, one of the Smart Drone's immediately flies to the restaurant and patiently awaits your order. It then flies your meal directly to your front door within a few minutes time. If everyone wants to order something different from multiple restaurants at the same time, that's never a problem. We'll dispatch as many Drones needed to complete any order from as many restaurants as it takes. LOL, can you imagine 4 or 5 Drone's all showing up at you're front door at the same time. Hopefully they'll be smart enough to wait their turn.
