Coming to the Shark Tank
Now why is it that a lot of Kid's do not like wearing safety helmets? It's simple really, because most helmet designs they perceive as uncool. What if you could take any safety helmet on the market and instantly "make it cool" by sporting a colorful Mohawk? Chances are you might create a whole new set of problems when your kid's now refuse to take off their helmet, even at Dinner time. This is an interesting product coming to the Shark Tank that has a much bigger motive than just looking cool.

These Fohawx Helmet Add-Ons have been compared to Fonzie's Leather Jacket from the "Hit TV Show Happy Days" on what it takes to "Look Cool" in this day and age. No kidding, that's a true story and I'm sticking to it. :)

Mohawk Helmet's
The two Entrepreneurs' behind the Fohawx Helmets are Kelly Dineen and Joycelyn Fine coming from Bayonne, New Jersey. What makes these two entrepreneurs more than qualified in the Kid's Industry is the fact they both have held management positions at Toys R Us Headquarters. I suppose if you want to invent a new product that make kids look cool and become wildly successful in the process, getting coveted shelf space at Toys R Us Stores would have to be the Holy Grail. What are the odds you can already buy the Fohawx Helmet Accessories at Toys R Us? I would say about 100%, unless of course they already sold out for the Holidays.

I might be wrong about this, but thinking about all the big box retailer's that's been mentioned on the Shark Tank with the Sharks already having an established business relationships with, I honestly cannot remember a single time Toys R Us was ever mentioned. If this little fact that Jocelyn Fine and Kelly Dineen both worked, consulted and personally know the decision makers at Toys R Us, this might be considered a strategic partnership the Sharks will be willing to bid up and secure this valuable contact.

Fohawx before Shark Tank Update:

Having bought a variety of helmets for my own two Boys covering everything from Ski Helmets, Skateboard Helmets and Football Helmets, the only one they would always wear was the football helmet because they had little choice. The Skateboard and Bike Helmets always seemed to get ditched as soon as I was out of sight because they said "it made them look like dorks".  What's a parent to do when they refuse to wear a Safety Helmet willingly? Having the ability to customize their safety helmets into something they "want to wear" is what I would call a perfect case of reverse psychology where everyone wins.

It's a Great Idea I think the Sharks will see a lot of value in and most likely get at least a few offers if not a solid deal. My only question is after checking out all the Fohawx styles and accessories already available for sale, why isn't there a line for made for us bigger kids where we can also look cool wearing our helmets? The more I keep thinking about that statement, the more I realize Fohawx has lots of room for future growth in a number of untapped markets.

There were other Toys 'R Us mentions. I think the teddy bear cleaning kit was one.

  2. I just watched the episode with the fohawk helmets. I think these lady's don't need the "sharks" of Shark Tank!! I'm a mother of 4 and would be excited to purchase these for my kids!! My husband and I would also wear them!! Love this idea!!!

    1. LMAO

"About a year after airing on Shark Tank, FoHawx dissolved, closing down the helmet accessories business forever."

  3. Wish we could purchase this product direct from the creators. The shipping Walmart & Toys R Us is charging for this product is making it too expensive to purchase. I'm a mom of five kids and can't pay more for shipping than the price of the product!!

  4. I wouldnt buy it

  5. Anonymous9:03 PM
