Let's face it, getting a shot really sucks. It's bad enough for adults, but just the site of a needle and the painful experiences from the past, is enough to terrify little kids into never wanting to visit the Doctors office again. I learned first-hand just exactly how real this fear is when one day I had to take one of my Boy's to the Doctors. Everything was going fine until the Nurse said he needed a shot to update his School records. I could instantly see a fear come over him after the last time he experienced several shots of unpleasant pain and immediately started to convince me he didn't need another one.

When he realized it wasn't going to work, the little turkey said he needed to go to the restroom while we were waiting for the nurse to return with the big bad needle. She returned to the room, but my Son was nowhere to be found. It took us about a half an hour to finally find him hiding in the bushes out in the parking lot.

Before writing this article on Buzzy Pain Relief System for the Shark Tank Success Blog, I never knew a product existed that takes away up to 80% of the sting felt from getting a shot. Considering this is an unpleasant we all have to endure, it really is amazing a product like the Buzzy 4 Shots hasn't been invented decades ago.

Fortunately Dr. Amy Baxter, our newest Shark Tank Contestant, has come up with the perfect remedy to get rid of this needless pain. Dr. Baxter designed the Buzzy for Shots to take advantage of the "Gate Control Theory of Pain" by confusing the body's nervous system and distracting your attention away from the pain.
By using a combined ice pack to numb the area, and a high frequency vibration used to distract the nerves, the reviews are overwhelming positive very little pain is felt when receiving a shot. The Buzzy also has positive reviews helping relieve itching, tooth aches and burned area pain caused by sore nerves.

The Buzzy 4 Shots website is broken down into 3 sections including the Child's version, the Adult version and a section for Health Care Professionals. I can only imagine after this Shark Tank Episode 517 airs next Friday night, every single Doctors Office giving lots of shots to patients, especially kids, would consider this an excellent investment they really "need". Can you imagine how much fun giving shots to little kids on a regular basis must be? Yes, I can easily see this product in every single Doctors Office where giving shots is part of the daily routine.

Buzzy 4 Shots before Shark Tank Update

It stands to reason Buzzy 4 Shots will help prevent an unnecessary fear of the Doctors Office, while also giving the Doctors and Nurses a more pleasant work atmosphere than having to deal with the alternative.

  1. Wow, I'm humbled by such a great write up. Top of the list of slam dunk new inventions? Awesome! To be fair, while 84% of adults felt nothing with flu shots, the study with children that found IV pain reduced by 88% was actually done with our DistrACTION cards PLUS Buzzy. Kids can be so afraid that it ramps up their pain perception, so using BUzzy with seek-and-find questions makes the experience much better. Alone, Buzzy has reduced pain 50 - 56% pretty consistently for children aged 4+ who are getting one poke. We don't have publications for younger infants, and it does seem that the younger you are and the more sticks you get, the less of a slam dunk Buzzy is. : ( Just want to be scientific and honest! For adults, older kids, teens, and a host of non-shot things that ice packs and rubbing make better, though, Buzzy has been both literally a life-starter and life-saver. Very humbling. Thank you so much for the great write up! Needle phobia is important, and we have lots of helpful information on our site.

    1. Hi Dr. Amy, thanks for stopping by!
I hope by now we know a great business idea for the Shark Tank when we see one, and without a doubt, this is a Great One! Personally I would not want to get any shot without the Buzzy now that I know it exists. I would imagine many millions of people will feel the same.

Good luck on the Show! You deserve "everything" headed your way for finally solving this very real fear of needles a lot of people have.

    2. I'm a senior citizen that is fearful of needles in the Dr's office and the hospital. I frequently ask for something to knock me out before the shot, which they refuse to do. I have a tendency to jump well when they take my body part to inject me with something. I once had six shots in my shoulder. I was a stress mess from all the needles. I hope to try Buzzy with my next shot.

    Dear Dr Amy Baxter.
Wow!! I could not believe how you aced on shark tank. You really need help but are not able to realize it. If you really were interested in getting help You should have accepted their offer. It was a fair offer and could have brought Buzzy to a new level with the help fo the sharks.

  3. Dr. Amy Baxter did a great job on Shark Tank. I am a fan of Shark Tank and have watched every episode. She was intelligent and stuck to her guns, and stood behind her project. She was right to do so as she came up with an excellent product. She resisted the "shark pressure" to decrease her valuation and I think she made exactly the right move. Congrats!

  4. Baloney! No investor in their right mind pays for future valuation based on probably sales. In addition no shark wants to fail with any of their investments so you could be sure they would have a vested interest in where their expertise lie and that is primarily marketing the product. Big mistake on someone who obviously doesn't need the profits from their invention to sustain their lifestyle or retirement.

  5. Anonymous12:56 PM

Actually, given the success Buzzy already had in the market place (millions in sales), it was perfectly reasonable for Dr. Baxter to request the valuation she did. The Sharks are smart but not infallible: Notice that Mark Cuban was certain that the market was households, while Mr. Wonderful was certain the market was doctors and hospitals. Glad she stuck to her guns.

Might've been a good idea to counter 3 Sharks: 500k for 25%. That way she would get an extra shark for just 5% more and all that expertise and connections. Remember the greater your network the greater your net worth.

    1. Anonymous10:22 PM

she wasn't on there to make a deal bro. sure she wouldve taken 500k for 5%, but she was there for promotion. the sharks realized it at the end when she didnt accept, and i think that's probably why kev dissed her. her whole steez was a sting. props. shark a shark.

    2. You're absolutely correct. The only reason she went on the show was for publicity. However, with that comes a price. Per her "Shark Tank" contract, she now has to pay a percentage of future sales to "The Shark Tank" show. Hope it was worth it.

  7. I've always bought stock based on future P?E ratios, what's different here?

  8. Anonymous10:03 PM

Oh my gosh! What a "ding-dong". I can't believe she passed on $500k. What a greedy arrogant lady.

  9. Anonymous1:17 PM

Please, don't put any more MDs on the show; like they need the money??? Not exactly the 'made for TV' type I'd say. Out of the 50,000 applicants I'm sure the producers could have found a better prospect. Give me a break. I want to see someone who's thrown themselves and their life into their product, who gives up 30% equity then cries when they land a shark. I don't want to see someone like Dr. Amy who wants a riculous valuation. Clearly she only wanted the exposure (what a waste of TV time) and will now finance it with other doctors. And the producers couldn't see that coming? Thumbs down ST.
