Shark Tank vs. Super Bowl/ Winter Olympics

Shark Tank Phenomenon Extends Reach

12 seconds into the Super Bowl, Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks
WTF Happened ???
Denver Broncos Set All Kind's of
New Super Bowl Records!
With over 110 million viewers watching the Super Bowl last Sunday and over a billion people expected to watch the Olympics in Sochi this Friday night; other networks don't stand a chance in the ratings, right? That's probably a fair statement a lot of networks would agree with having to compete against the two biggest Sporting Events in the world. Fortunately for ABC they have this addicting Show called the Shark Tank Show, and boy so far has it paid off.

Last Sunday night after my favorite team the Denver Broncos almost won the Super Bowl, (they just needed a few more quarters) ABC decided to run back-to-back episodes of "America's Funniest Home Videos" and the "Shark Tank Show". This decision easily won ABC Network the top spot for non-sports with viewers up over 40% year to year. When the double episode of the Shark Tank started at 9 p.m. the number of 18-49 year olds exploded over 83% within this coveted market. The number of total viewers came in at 3.7 million according to the ratings which is not bad for a Shark Tank rerun on a Sunday night. I'm not sure what ran in this time slot last Sunday night, but these numbers also represent a 120% increase from last Sunday and an overall 5 week high.

ABC Shark Tank vs. The Olympics

Considering the Winter Olympics is held every four years when hundreds of millions of people will be watching the Opening Ceremony this Friday night, the Shark Tank Show ratings will be up for its biggest challenge ever. ABC wisely decided to show a few reruns for the next few Friday nights and resume with a new episode starting February 21, 2014. What's kind of interesting is the episode ABC chose to air during the Winter Olympics Opening night which will be Episode #506. This episode features Rent a Goat, Bare Ease Bikini Waxing, Ruffle Butts, Veggie Mama and Nardo's Natural Update with Barbara Corcoran. No doubt it's certainly a memorable Shark Tank episode, especially the Nardos Natural update, which will be very interesting seeing the final numbers facing this extremely tough competition. As far as I can remember since the Shark Tank Phenomenon really took hold, this Friday night February 7, 2014, will be its biggest challenge ever in the ratings.

Obviously we already know who will win the over-all ratings, but sometimes just like the Denver Broncos; second place might not be so bad.

Good Luck to All the Athlete's competing in this year's Winter Olympics. Kind of like the Shark Tank Show, just getting there puts you in a select group thousands of people only dream about.
