Shark Tank Episode 602
Have you ever had guests over for coffee and politely had to slip a coaster under the cup before it ruined your furniture? It doesn't matter if it's a cup or a mug, it can and will damage the surface if left there long enough. But what if there was a floating coffee cup, one that has a built-in coaster keeping your beverage suspended above the table.

If you haven't already heard about the Coasterless Floating Mugs invented by Tigere Chiriga, you'd probably think this was some kind of a floating magic trick, but its not. The coaster-less floating coffee mugs keep liquid suspended in the air by Chiriga's patented handle design which eliminates the need for using a coaster.

With such a clever new design for Tigere's floating coffee cup, He's yet again another Shark Tank Contestant who first took the crowd funding route to establish there was indeed a market for this invention. Chiriga chose Kickstarter, the largest crowdfunding site online, to get the Coaster-less Mugs kick-started in the right direction.

With an ambitious $15,000.00 needed for the molds and startup inventory, this would also be a great test to measure the potential for the patented floating mug. The Floating Mug campaign ended July 31, 2012, with over $39,000.00 in total pledges, and overwhelmingly positive reviews from the pledgers themselves.

Floating Coffee Mugs before Shark Tank Update

Interesting the Coasterless Floating Mug website has been "for the most part" disabled at the time of this writing. The Floating Mugs are still available on Amazonand being fulfilled by their warehouse's, so that's a good thing getting so close to Shark Tank Season 6 Brand New Episode. Most likely the site is gearing up for the Show. But on the other hand, who knows at this point, maybe Chiriga ended up getting a deal with the Sharks and just signed a lucrative licensing deal. I'll try and get this updated if the Coasterless Mugs website comes back online before episode 602 airs this Friday night on the second half of the 2 Hour Shark Tank Special on ABC.

I like how the website says, "Hi! I'm just cleaning up, have guests coming September 26th. You can get updates from my Facebook page Cheers! Tiggs."

good luck tiggs---i love it and going to buy them!!!!

Hello Tiggs! I like the concept of your floating coffee cups with coasters- and I have a suggestion to enhance it slightly- if you are interested? It is another big common problem for coffee drinkers- and would be a minor enhancement (I believe)- while solving 2 common problems (instead of 1)- twice the selling capability! Please e-mail me at angelbehring@gmail.com Thanks! :)

  4. Hi Tiggs, love the idea of your mug, don't know what the sharks were thinking..............you WILL make it keep on keeping on my friend :)

  5. Tiggs, congrats on your business drive and making it onto sharktank. I see one major flaw in your floating mug idea. Unlike the conventional mug+coaster where the coaster with drips stay put on the surface while you pick up your mug for subsequent sips, your design would mean the coaster will also rise with the mug, and tilt with the mug when one is drinking. Any drips caught on the integrated coaster in your floating mug would get onto the drinker's shirt or outfit. To me this design simply shifts the drips problem from tabletop surfaces to garments. I am sure you will find a solution to that as you are a smart guy. Good luck and all the best to your venture.

Just saw Tigg on Shark Tank, it must be a repeat show. And sadly saw him denied. But I see that his product is on Amazon, so that's good, he is making some money, better than nothing. But I agree with the female Shark that says that he really needs to lower the price of the mugs. He would get more sales that way.

    1. Great job Tigg's! I'm so happy You and Lorri made a deal!

Yes! don't give up Tiggs! Don't let the shark tank incident bring you down.
