TITIN Tech on Shark Tank
One of the more interesting things learning about new inventions making it on the Shark Tank is where the idea and motivation first originated. Patrick Whaley, the inventor of the Titin Tech Weighted Clothing Line will be appearing on Shark Tank in the next episode 609 with a "real" success story that you won't soon forget. The idea for a weighted down shirt was first conceived by Patrick back in High School, but the motivation to turn this into a thriving new business might have helped save his life.
Whaley's page on the Titan Techs Founders website reads " Amateur Body Builder, Mechanical Engineer and Gun Shot Victim." All three combined is what's inspired the Titan Tech Weight Shirts to become a reality, and now join the ranks of the latest, greatest and coolest new Shark Tank products.
While studying at Georgia Tech back in 2009, Patrick was shot at point blank range during an armed robbery. After several months in the hospital, Patrick started using one of his "patented" Titan Tech proto-type shirts to help speed up the muscle building recovery process. The idea of wearing weighted fitness products for body building and endurance purposes could also help other folks in ways Whaley never imagined before.
After several notable awards and secured patents in place, the Titan Tech Weighted Compression Gear started a crowd funding campaign on Fundable.com raising the first $1 million to get this product kick started in the right direction.
Whaley recently started another crowd funding campaign on Kickstarter in June of this year to help expand the Titan Tech product-line with a pair of weighted compression shorts. In this campaign, Patrick only needed to raise $100,000.00 to get the compression pants to manufacturing, which easily achieved that goal ending with over $117,000.00 in total pledges.
The Titan Tech Weight Shirts and Shorts are quickly becoming popular with athletes in every sport imaginable. Even those that are less active, just wearing a Titan Tech eight pound weighted shirt during normal activities, could make a huge difference in maintaining your muscle tone.
It's hard believing only eight pounds of gel weights distributed in all the right places, could have an immediate positive impact. But after watching this review by The Hoop Network, I wouldn't be in a big hurry adding additional weight.
Titin Tech Weighted Apparel before Shark Tank UpdateThere have been several contestants on the Shark Tank that first ran successful crowd funding campaigns and proved proof-of-concept before getting on the Show, but not many belong to the Million Dollar Club. This one single fact alone which should be brought up during this episode 609 will impress all the Sharks on tonight's panel.
The second successful crowd funding campaign Titan Tech did raising capital for the weighted shorts, was started very close to the time Patrick Whaley first walked into the Shark Tank during the episodes taping. It'll be interesting to see if the weighted pants future addition is brought up during the Show, which would help answer a few questions to this coincidental timing of two major events.
The one main concern that might keep the Titan Tech weighted shirts and shorts out of the hands of millions of potential customers is the current price. At a retail cost even on Amazon for 229 - 249 per TITIN Muscle Building Shirt, this might need to come down a bit before becoming a mainstream product, IMO. For someone that's already very active and always trying to beat their personal best, this product is exactly the extra edge you need.
How much the price for a Titan Tech Weighted Shirt can come down with larger manufacturing orders remains to be seen. But, hopefully, this will be brought up during Shark Tank's Halloween Special this Friday night.
