It's always interesting learning how new Shark Tank products evolved from an idea that solves a problem, to a full-fledged business worthy of a Shark Tank appearance. In the case of Forus Athletic Shoes, the problem was identified in one statement to a group of athletes, "This sucks! My shoe insoles are completely worn, and I feel like I'm walking and training on a board". Now I'd imagine most runners would agree with this statement, it would take five athletic entrepreneurs over three years to finally solve this problem even the likes of Nike and Adidas never quite figured out.

The Forus Athletics Brand will be represented on the next Brand New Shark Tank this Friday night by two of the owners Arsene Millogo and Joel Vinocour. What makes the Fourus Athletic Running Shoes superior in this multi-billion dollar crowded market is the built-in patented shock absorbent PolstarMax 6 Insole Technology. The Polstar Max 6 is a removable and lightweight shock absorbent stability bar.
The best way to learn how this technology's incorporated into Forus Athletics is watching this three-minute video used in as successful Indiegogo Campaign.

The Fourus Athletics crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo successfully ended September, 2012, raising over $48,000.00 from a $40,000.00 stated goal. Since that time, the Brand went from offering four styles of Forus shoes, to dozens of new styles and designs already being sold around the world. It's interesting to note that a lot of the new designs including the "Indiana University Running Shoes" are in pre-order stage at this time. If I didn't know any better, perhaps a large capital investment (like a Shark Tank Investment?) was recently put into the For-Us Brand helping fund the new athletic shoes soon coming on the market. One thing's for sure; this running shoe company has lots of traction even before their Shark Tank appearance this Friday night on ABC.

Forus Athletics before Shark Tank Appearance

When I first heard the Brand Name, "Forus", I knew I'd heard that term before. Coincidentally enough, one of the original Sharks, Daymond John, has sold billions in merchandise using a similar name. Daymond's Brand "FUBU" stand for "For Us - By Us" that granted isn't spelled the same, but similar never the less. Forus Athletics was first formed back in 2009 when the Shark Tank was making its debut, and purely coincidental the two "For Us" Brands would ultimately meet.

I'll be very surprised if the similarities in brand names aren't brought up during the pitch, and even more surprised if Daymond John isn't interested in partnering with Forus Athletics. To me, it seems like a perfect fit. According to the Forus Athletics LinkedIn page, the company currently employs 200 to 250 employees and still growing at an incredible rate. With solid growth like that, I wouldn't be surprised if several Sharks put on their running shoes and try to catch a piece of this business.

  1. Go for the gold! I am planning to buy one or two pair. Do you plan to make an entirely black or entirely white sneaker?

  2. Do you have a plan to make an all white shoe? I'm a nurse and for years have been in search of a shoe that can hold up to my 13 hour shift. I'd love to try these!

    1. Don't buy. I paid for a pair in early 2015. Still haven't gotten them. Waste of money. Shame on Shark Tank.

    2. My story is the same! And Forus Inc does not answer emails, phone calls or messages. Bad way to do business.

  3. Don't buy from these guys. They have yet to ship any shoes to anyone that placed orders months and months ago. They don't respond to any communication. Just look at their Facebook page.

    1. According to the website, the Forus Shoes is still in pre-order stage 5 months after appearing on the Shark Tank. The latest post on FB says the "USA Pride Shoes" are stuck in a LA Port still waiting to clear Customs since July??? The shoes might be called USA Pride, but obviously, Not Made in the USA as the name suggests. Regardless of delays that's common with some Successful Shark Tank products growing to meet demand, there's NO Excuse when it comes to "Great Customer Service" during this critical time.

    2. I agree! I ordered shoes the night they appeared on Shark Tank and there has been very minimal updates from the company on where the shoes are. I have been told several times they were stuck in port and I should have them in August, it is December and no shoes or word on when I'll get them. Don't trust this company!!

  4. I ordered shoes in May, still haven't received. No customer service support. I received this response from the Better Business Bureau: This message is in regard to your complaint submitted on 10/12/2015 against FORUS Athletics. Your complaint was assigned ID xxxxxxxx.

After repeated unanswered correspondence to the company from our office, the Bureau has decided to close this complaint and note that the business did not respond to the complaint.

This complaint will be reflected on the company's BBB Reliability Report with the following language: "The company failed to respond either to the consumer or the Bureau to the complaint(s) filed."

To pursue this matter further, you may wish to contact your state's Attorney General's Office, seek legal advice, or file in small claims court.

Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

  5. I ordered in June and still no product. Cannot get my money back from AmEx due to time elapsed. There is NO WAY to contact these people. All phone calls and emails are unanswered. AmEx suggested contacting the State Attorney General, the BBB, and the Consumer Finance Protection Agency. Wish the sharks would intervene for us.

  6. Bought two pair of shoes from them in April. Received a few emails detailing the delays, but now nothing. Repeated calls and emails to this company go nowhere. Out $195 and PayPal won't intervene for us. Could the Sharks help us out? Does anyone have any leads?

  7. same story, ordered in April and still no shoes....no responses to emails or calls

  8. If this is such a success story then why are they screwing customers over?

  9. Shark Tank should be embarrassed to even have their name here. I complained to the BBB and even they couldn't get a hold of them. F rating on Better Business Bureau. I don't blame Shark Tank but you'd think a business would be established first. Worse thing is, it's been 8 months since I ordered. They fill no orders but their site is still up taking orders. Hows that work??

  10. These guys are out of business and their site is a scan - still waiting for my order in May 2015, it's crazy

  11. Ordered and charged for shoes in August. I filed BBB complaint in Nov when all forms of communication failed. Good companies don't process your payment until they actually ship your product! BBB has also failed to resolve, so all they can do is to give For us an F rating.

  14. I am a victim, too. I ordered a pair after viewing them on Shark Tank. It has been over a year and now they will not respond to my emails or return calls.
