You Kick Ass on Shark Tank
|"You Kick Ass" Personalized Super Hero's|
appearing on the Shark Tank Show
May 8, 2015
The two entrepreneurs representing the You Kick Ass Super Hero Action Figures is Alesia Glidewell and Keri Andrews who'll appear on the next Shark Tank in Episode 625 on May 8, 2015. The pair along with Doug Jordan invented the personalized action figures using 3-D printing technology to create a life-like appearance from any photograph. The height of your personalized doll ranges from 6" to 11 " depending on the action hero selected and is truly one-of-a-kind.
Unlike every other action figure having a movie, comic or cartoon to promote the product, The You Kick Ass entrepreneurs took a different approach while avoiding expensive licensing fees typically associated with this market. Who wants an action figure millions of other people already have when you can buy a customized one-of-a-kind Super Hero resembling yourself? Yes, I do believe I like this idea, but at what cost? And how long does it take to make a You Kick Ass Action Figure?
The You Kick Ass Super Hero's is yet another Shark Tank product first going to Kickstarter to first prove this business concept. With what appears to be "lots of motivation" at the beginning of the campaign starting June 24, 2014, the trio easily reached the initial $15,000.00 goal. A short time later the $45,000.00 stretch goal was reached and triggered more characters and personalized options adding the workload to bring these to market. The campaign successfully ended July 24, 2014 with 496 backers pledging $46,603 from a $15k goal with an estimated delivery time in September.
You Kick Ass Reviews before Shark Tank AppearanceIt's hard seeing any reviews for the You Kick Ass Action Figure's because, we'll, it appears even the 500 backers are still waiting for their Super Hero's. The idea making customized one-of-a-kind action figures seems like a solid concept, but "too many" choices for figures and options on the first production run seems to be slowing down the entire process.
Another obstacle the Sharks might have with this company going mainstream is the Brands name. As a grown-up, yes I get it, but as a parent I don't. The product would certainly make a great present that would help any kids self-esteem and creativity, I just wish it had a more kid-friendly name. I would imagine most Teachers would agree, especially if a You Kick Ass Action Figure was brought to School for Show and Tell. Somebody's ass would get kicked alright, yours! ,,,LOL,,,
You can Pre-Order a personalized Action Figure on the website for $59.00 each showing an expected delivery date June 1, 2015. Keep in mind this information's posted before Kick Ass appears on the Shark Tank Show this Friday night. Once these personalized Super Hero's appear on the Shark Tank, who knows how much farther this date will be pushed in the future. It's a great concept lot's of Shark Tan Fans will love, even if they have to wait for the You Kick Ass Super Hero's to catch up.
