FireAvert on Shark Tank

Prevent's Stove Fire's - Episode 713 - January 5, 2016

Prevents Stove Fires
Prevent Stove Fires
with Fire Avert
The Fire Avert is the only product of its kind that prevent's stove fires from getting started. Before something unattended catches fire on your stove, it first creates smoke setting off the smoke alarms first. It's when the smoke alarms are set off with that piercing sound that awakens the Fire Avert and cut's off all power to the stove. Whatever was burning on the stove and about to catch fire is completely cut-off from its source of energy whether it's electrical, gas or propane.

The entrepreneur behind the Fire Avert is Firefighter Peter Thorpe, who'll be appearing on the first Episode of the Shark Tank in 2016. As a full-time Firefighter, Thorpe was well aware cooking on electric stoves is the #1 cause of home fires in the United State's. Naturally, they can't make a smart stove that turns itself off when on fire, (or can they?) but after Shark Tank Episode 713 airs this Tuesday night, every stove can be smart enough to turn itself off in case of an emergency.

Below is an excellent FireAvert video showing stove top fires getting started and seeing how this new Shark Tank product effectively averts a major fire. It isn't until the vegetable oil creates enough smoke to set off the smoke alarm that the Fire-Avert goes into action and effectively turns off all power to the stove.

Fire Avert Reviews before Shark Tank Update

The Fire Avert has been on the market since 2012 with fantastic reviews from the Fire Fighting Community knowing this product can and will prevent home fires. While still an active Firefighter, Peter raised $85,000.00 in start-up capital entering four different competitions in which he placed in the top four in all of them. The concept has clearly been proven even before appearing on the Shark Tank in Episode 713, but the cost for the Fire Avert has remained the same.

The Shark's no doubt will see the value having the FireAvert installed on every stove in the U.S., but the current price at $195.99 each affect the demand. If however, the Fire Avert has an agreement with insurance companies lowering consumer's bills because the home's protected from the #1 cause of home fires, the high initial cost would eventually pay for itself.

  1. They only hurdle I see with Fire Avert is that smoke alarms aren't usually in the kitchen. If they do they're usually in apartments and have shower caps around them or a fan blowing away fumes to prevent false alarms.

  2. How does it work on gas stoves?

  3. I have seen other models of these that cut the stove off.
